Ocean Alley & Hockey Dad NZ Tour

Ocean Alley, the Aussie surf-psych musos, are hitting up top spots around the country next year, including Wellington’s Michael Fowler Centre.

The six-member strong group are touring in support of their latest album, Lonely Diamond. Released in 2020, the album was embraced by fans and critics. Debuting at number six on the NZ Top 40 Album Chart and snapping up an ARIA nomination.

The upcoming tour marks the band’s biggest headline run of New Zealand and will feature a full production complete with a new light show. Ocean Alley has performed at Auckland’s Powerstation and graced stages at some of the country’s biggest festivals. Including Rhythm & Vines, Rhythm & Alps, and Soundsplash. The band also dropped by as the main support on Six60’s Saturday’s tour at Western Springs Stadium and Forsyth Barr Stadium.

Prior to Lonely Diamond, the band launched their album Chiaroscuro in 2018, including the single Confidence. The song went on to become NZ platinum-certified. It took out the number one song on triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2018 and propelled the band into international acclaim.

From the word go the band have been independent, developing their unique DIY approach. Their latest tracks offer up a cruisy psychedelic rock sound with a touch of reggae and manage to be both punchy and smooth.

Supporting Ocean Alley for the tour is Australian garage rock band Hockey Dad.
